Certified sex therapist Laurie Watson is a licensed marriage counselor and author of a book for women with low libido called Wanting Sex Again. She lectures at the medical schools of Duke and UNC Chapel Hill on sexual functioning. Her latest adventure is as a podcaster producing FOREPLAY – Radio Sex Therapy where you and your partner can listen in on a frank and funny conversation with her male cohost designed to help couples keep it hot! She’s a well-known blogger for WebMD and Psychology Today with over 2.5 million reads. She owns Awakenings – Center for Intimacy and Sexuality, is the clinical director for 9 clinicians and has three offices in Raleigh, Greensboro and Winston Salem. In addition to sex therapy and marriage counseling, Awakenings treats individuals and families with basic psychological services.

A popular media figure, she has appeared on the Katie Couric Show and is regularly on radio and television in Raleigh and Greensboro. Director/owner of Awakenings, Center for Intimacy and Sexuality, Laurie supervises 6 clinicians in both Raleigh and Greensboro.

She’s a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, has been married for 30 years and has three grown sons.
